Mexico will hold its first power auction next year
Share:
Recently, according to the Mexico CENACE(National Energy Control Center) revealed that Mexico will hold the first electricity auctions in the history in next March, and the Federal Power Commission will be the only buyer.
CENACE has sent out invitations to suppliers who are interested in the auction. The invitation lists the 15 year contract for the country's initial long-term auction for energy and capacity, and will determine the date of the bid for March 28, 2016.
Power suppliers are required to provide the power capacity of the federal electricity commission through the pre qualification examination and listing of the bid. One of the key constraints is that bidders can not provide electricity in the so-called legacy contracts.
