The difference between power cable and control cable
Share:
Power cables are used to transmit and distribute large-function electrical energy in the main line of the power system, while control cables are power connection lines that directly transmit electrical energy from the power distribution point of the power system to various electrical equipment and appliances.
The rated voltage of power cables is generally 0.6/1kV and above, while control cables are mainly 450/750V. Therefore, when power cables and control cables of the same specifications are produced, the thickness of the insulation and sheath of the power cables is thicker than that of the control cables.
(1) Control cables are cables for electrical equipment, and power cables are two of the five categories of cables.
(2) The color of the insulated core of the control cable is generally black with white lettering, and the low voltage of the power cable is generally color-separated.
(3) The cross-section of control cables generally does not exceed 10 square meters. Power cables are mainly used for power transmission and generally have large cross-sections.
Due to the above reasons, the specifications of power cables are generally large, up to 500 square meters (the range that conventional manufacturers can produce), and the cross-section of control cables generally does not exceed 10 square meters.
In terms of the number of cable cores, according to the requirements of the power grid, the power cable can be up to 5 cores, and the control cable can be up to 61 cores.
