Low-voltage power cables, everthing you need to know
Components of power cable
It consists of four parts: core (conductor), insulating layer, shielding layer and protective layer.
(1)Core. The core is the conductive part of the power cable, used to transmit electrical, and is the main part of the power cable.
(2)Insulation. The insulation is to electrically isolate the core from the earth and the cores of different phases from each other.
(3)Shielding. 15KV and above generally have a conductor shielding layer and an insulating shielding layer to ensure electric transmission, which is an indispensable part of the power cable structure.
(4)Protective. The function of the protective layer is to protect the power cable from the intrusion of external impurities and moisture, and to prevent the power cable from being directly damaged by external forces.
What are the types of low-voltage power cables? The answer is here!
What are the types of low-voltage cables? Before understanding the types of low-voltage power cables, we must first know the low-voltage power cables. Low-voltage power cable refers to: 0.6-1KV cable. The structure of low-voltage power cables is composed of conductors, fillers, insulation and sheaths. The conductors have single core, two core, three core, four core, etc.
The types of low voltage cables are: VV, YJV, VV22, YJV22, YQ/YZ/YC, BTTZ/YTTW
Below TANO cable will introduce these low-voltage power cable and specifications in detail.
PVC insulated and sheathed copper power cable
This kind of cable is a common of power cable, which is mainly laid indoors, in tunnels and pipelines, and cannot withstand mechanical external forces. The main difference between YJV and YJV is that there is no cross-linking process, and it is weaker than YJV in terms of working temperature and environmental protection, and has a tendency to be gradually replaced. However, its low cost and high cost performance make it very popular among industrial enterprises.
YJV22: XLPE insulated PVC sheathed copper power cable
This kind of cable is mainly laid indoors, in trenches and pipes, and can also be buried in loose soil. It cannot withstand pressure and mechanical external forces. Its performance advantage is that it has a cross-linking process, working temperature does not exceed 90 ℃, and high temperature resistance. Good performance, more environmentally friendly, non-toxic burning, long life, excellent electrical performance.
VV22: Copper core PVC insulated steel tape armored power cable
Among them, 22 refers to the steel tape armored insulated PVC sheath, which is used indoors and directly buried in the soil in the tunnel. This kind of cable can withstand external mechanical forces.
YJV22: Copper core cross-linked insulated steel tape armored PVC sheathed power cable
It has the same meaning as 22 in VV22. It refers to a steel tape armored insulated PVC sheath, which is used indoors and directly buried in the soil in tunnels, and can withstand external mechanical forces.
YQ/YZ/YC: General rubber sheathed flexible cable
Mainly used in household appliances, power tools and various mobile electrical equipment with AC rated voltages of 450/750V and below. YQ cable has good flexibility and can be bent many times in a non-directional direction. The cable itself is light and has a small outer diameter. It is mainly used in the power cord of household appliances. YZ cables are flexible and can withstand general mechanical external forces, and are mainly used in power tool power cords. YC cable can withstand greater mechanical external force and self-dragging force, and the sheath has high elasticity and strength. It is mainly used in mechanical mobile power cords.
BTTZ/YTTW: Rigid (flexible) copper core copper sheathed magnesium oxide mineral insulated fireproof cable
BTTZ is a traditional mineral insulated cable. Its copper core, copper outer sheath and insulation layer are densely integrated. YTTW is an inorganic mineral insulated cable, also known as a flexible fireproof cable. Its conductor is made of stranded copper wires with multiple layers. Mica tape is used as an insulating layer. The two are different in pressure resistance, fire resistance, and current carrying capacity.
