The difference between YJV cable and RVV cables
Share:
1. Different voltages
The full name of RVV cable is copper core PVC insulated PVC sheathed flexible cable, voltage grade 300/500V. The YJV cable is the full name of copper core XLPE insulated PVC sheathed power cable, voltage grade is low voltage 0.6/1kV, medium voltage 6/10KV to 26/35kV.
2. Different appearance
The RVV power cord is a commonly used wire and cable in the weak current system. Two or more RV wires are added with a layer of sheath. The internal cores are not only 2 cores, but also 3 cores, 4 cores, 6 cores, and other specifications. The copper core conductor of the YJV power cord has a beautiful outer layer like the RVS copper core conductor. At the same time, there is a sheath on the outermost layer, which is an environmentally friendly cable. The copper core wire in the YJV power cord is generally parallel and not twisted.
When wiring, you can choose to use RVS wires if there are not many loops in a straight line, no wiring, and no wall penetration. RVV power cords can be selected for the wiring of trunk lines and multiple loops.
3. Material difference
These two kinds of wires are made of polyvinyl ethylene as the insulating material. RVV is mainly used in meters and other circuits, and the ambient temperature is higher than 0 degrees. YJV cables are mostly used in power lines. Neither thread is recommended for use in water. It is better to use rubber insulated cables for cables used in water. YJV cables are a twisted pair wire, that is, two plastic copper flexible RV wires are twisted together, usually used for public address system wiring, fire protection system, etc.
4. Different manufacturing processes
RVV is a plastic cable, YJV is a cross-linked cable, and its insulation performance is better than that of RVV cables. YJV cables only do a cross-linking treatment on the insulating material to increase the heat-resistant temperature, while RVV does not. YJ stands for cross-linked polyethylene, which is the insulation type of the cable. V stands for PVC sheath, this is the inner sheath of the cable.
5. Different application scenarios
RVV is suitable for control signal transmission cable, electrical equipment, instrumentation, automation equipment, security, and anti-theft alarm system, high-rise building intercom system, household lighting connection line, etc. YJV cables are suitable for 0.6/1kV and below lines for power transmission and distribution. These cables can be fixed in cable trays, conduits, or walls.
